Yoga Teacher Training

Yoga Teacher Training

The training imparts a holistic yoga practice path and the skills to accompany other people holistically on the yoga path. At the same time, it is an intensive journey into your own depths, which enables you to develop your own physical and mental abilities and gifts.

The first section can also be attended for your own extensive practice.

The training is divided into basic training and advanced training, both of which last two years. The basic training primarily conveys the intensive experience and understanding of the various aspects of yoga. This first part is also good for people who want to explore the yoga path in depth for themselves without teaching yoga.

In the subsequent advanced training, teaching is added. With varied and targeted support, you will be introduced step by step to your own teaching activities.

If you are interested in the training, I would be happy to send you a detailed information folder. I would be happy to accompany you on this yoga path.

THE CONTENT OF THE TRAINING

A rich synthesis

The knowledge and wisdom of the Eastern traditions can today be reconciled with many Western methods and the findings of modern research. A rich synthesis of these Eastern and Western backgrounds forms the foundation of the training.

Coarse and subtle laws are worked out in practice and theory. The Yoga Sutra and the Upanishads provide the main guidance here. The various yoga instruments help to carefully and successfully implement desired physical, psychological and spiritual changes and to reveal who we are in our essence.

Creativity

Creativity is an expression of being in the flow with yourself, it enriches the yoga practice as well as everyday life. For this reason, various forms of creativity are encouraged in the training. New perspectives and options for action develop, which meaningfully enrich everyday life and show themselves as goodwill towards oneself and others.

The training is managed by Olivia Rohr, she personally accompanies all sections/processes. Selected experienced speakers will teach the training group on special topics: A. Buhr, M. Breyer, S. Geens, KH. Grossler, E. Ruschmann, R. Wehner and others.

Methods

Classical yoga involves a holistic path recorded by Patanjali 2000 years ago. He shows a variety of ways to transform body, breath and psyche in order to open up to deep experiences. Patanjali names two skills that are necessary for surpassing oneself: an energetic, joyful commitment (Abhyasa) and the art of letting go (Vairagya). Later source texts of yoga (Hatha-Pradipika, Bhagavadgita) convey psychological-meditative methods through which different states of consciousness and processes are promoted.

The training imparts these classic methods in the form of Physical exercises (asanas), breathing control (pranayama) and meditation. A lively and life-related ethic in dealing with ourselves (Niyama) and the world (Yama) is explored.

Alexander technique: one of the oldest western body systems

In order to support the practical implementation, essential elements of the Alexander Technique are also taught. The Alexander Technique, created around 1890, is one of the oldest western body methods. She does not work with another system of physical exercises, but conveys the "art of letting go" in order to achieve goals in a relaxed manner. This creates a way of dealing with our desires and actions that is neither too uptight nor too passive.

Other topics

In India, the two sister disciplines of yoga and Ayurveda have always enriched each other, and Ayurvedic principles are also incorporated into the training. They show type-appropriate ways to practice yoga and master everyday life.

The person-centered conversation according to Carl Rogers and Elisa Ruschmann conveys an empathetic, appreciative and clear communication style. It helps you understand yourself and others better and goes perfectly with yoga lessons. Positive psychology contributes further resource-oriented methods.

Yoga Teacher Training

I am in the second year of my yoga teacher training with Olivia. The atmosphere is one of harmony, openness and mutual trust. Olivia has a wealth of knowledge and experience that she generously shares with us. She accompanies us on our path with her affectionate, appreciative and loving manner. I am grateful and happy to be part of this training group.

Ulrike, Freiburg

My decision to start the training with Olivia was based on my yoga experiences with teachers who had been trained by Olivia. The training has been a great enrichment in my life. I have been fortunate enough to walk this path with her for a year now and I am deeply grateful for the extensive knowledge she shares with us. Her calm and mindful way of teaching, her concrete and clear instructions and her joy to walk the path with us are just examples of her teaching style. A constant alternation of practice, theory and conversation provides variety. She knows how to support the positive energies within the group, so that a good togetherness carries and nourishes our training. I thank Olivia from the bottom of my heart.

Ursula, Alzey

In my search for a suitable training place, I met Olivia, who was recommended to me by my yoga teacher. Already after the first lesson I was very taken with her way of teaching yoga. The clarity and calmness, the meditative alignment and the body-oriented instruction of the asanas convinced me.

There are many aspects for me that make Olivia and her way of teaching yoga special for me. I especially like the focus on meditation and the way she instructs it. With her help, I found a quick approach to meditation and have been practicing with joy ever since. After a difficult birth and decades of bad posture, I am in the process of widening myself with the help of yoga and step by step evolving out to a more favorable, body-appropriate posture and a body- and joint-appropriate use of the same. The fact that Olivia also teaches Alexander Technique enriches the yoga training immensely and her request to never practice without vision causes incredible progress. Already, after just under a year, I can feel and see significant changes in my body and psyche in terms of uprightness and everyday life. Olivia conveys the yoga philosophy with an ease and an actuality that convinces me very much. The yoga training has already changed me and broadened my view of myself and the world. I am very grateful for this valuable time and look forward to further learning and experiences.
